Day 2 of our airshow started out rainy with a low cloud ceiling, eventually causing the cancellation of the flying portion of the airshow. It stopped raining in the early afternoon and folks still came out to see the aircraft and displays on our ramp. Overall it was a great show and we enjoyed meeting the aircrews, pilots and all of you this weekend! Thanks to everyone for making it such a big success.

The Virtual Army Experience
Scott AFB has several Army units on its base, so let's find out what this recruiting "virtual experience" is all about. It was a fun thing to do on a rainy airshow day as we waited to see if there'd be any flying. Weather had moved in overnight making the cloud ceiling too low for performing. The commander would eventually cancel the flying portion of the show, and leave the flightline open until 3 p.m.
It's in the details!
There's a lot of teamwork behind the scenes and distributing the airshow program is just one of the thousands of tasks that hundreds of workers and volunteers do to ensure the day is a safe, fun, clean and informative.

Thanks to our volunteers!
It is up to all of our great volunteers to ensure the safety of our pedestrians! Their days start extra early (before 5am!) and run long past when Airshow ends for the day (6-7pm!) We interviewed just a couple of our Augmentees, as they are known, to get a better idea of what exactly it is they do, and to gain a further appreciation of their hard work!

Day 1 - Mega Cheeseburgers and Autographs!
Hi Airshow fans! Here's about a 4 min video that touches on just some of the highlights for you, as well as the question of the day and special attention by a true life, up close and personal SNOWBIRD! There's more reporting to come on the Army Golden Knights, volunteers and much much more!
The weather held up great. A few clouds rolled in, but no worries. Hopefully the rain will hold off till we're done. The Snowbirds do put on a very nice show. Not as loud as the Thunderbirds, but just as spectacular and precise. Plus they play cool Canadian music.

It's Airshow Time!
Scott AFB is right outside the St. Louis area and is hosting an airshow featuring the Canadian Forces Snowbirds! Today was a training day for them and some of the other aerial demo teams, as well as a general set up day for the base. Here's a quick look from 2nd Lt. Daniel Riley who just arrived in time to file this report! Stay tuned as we bring you amateur video from the front lines ... our broadcast co-workers are cringing at our lighting and wind! But we're loaded on the web and ready to go!
